Angelina Jolie: I’m Taking Off Completely For Children

Posted by Fai on May 27, 2008

Angelina Jolie says she is “taking off completely” from her acting career so she can spend more time with her children. She and her partner Brad Pitt have four children and are expecting twins this summer.

Jolie has spoken out about her life as a working mom. The 32-year-old says she feels “very lucky” because her job allows her to spend a lot of time with her family.

“I’m very, very lucky. A lot of mothers don’t have a job where they can just work a few months in a year and then come out for two says for a press conference,” Jolie says. “My schedule is very small in comparison when it comes to hours so I can afford to spend as much time as possible with my children.” Read more…

First Kung Fu Panda Featurettes

Posted by Fai on May 26, 2008

The IESB has been supplied with tons of new film clips and featurettes from Dreamworks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda.

Kung Fu Panda” features Jack Black as Po the Panda, a lowly waiter in a noodle restaurant, who is a kung fu fanatic but whose shape doesn’t exactly lend itself to kung fu fighting. In fact, Po’s defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest of all the animals in ancient China. That’s a problem because powerful enemies are at the gates, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophesy naming Po as the “Chosen One” to save the day. A group of martial arts masters are going to need a black belt in patience if they are going to turn this slacker panda into a kung fu fighter before it’s too late.

Kung Fu Panda stars Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Ian McShane, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim, James Nong, Michael Clarke Duncan, Dan Fogler and Melissa Cobb.

Kung Fu Panda opens in theaters everywhere on June 6th, 2008!

The Jolie-Pitts Settle Down, and How!

Brangelina’s ever expanding brood is going to have a lot more room to play. A lot.

Expectant parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have plunked down a cool $60 million on a sprawling 1,000-acre estate in the south of France. With 35 bedrooms, plus a vineyard, lake, forest and moat, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the soon-to-be-born twins are going to be playing house in high style.

“It’s called Chateau Miraval in a village called Brignol, which is near from Aix-en-Provence,” a source tells E! News. “And it’s absolutely unbelievable.

“Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it’s massive,” the insider added. “They’ve already spent almost another million on furniture and the whole family can’t wait to move in.” Read more…

Angelina’s $20 million twins!

Posted by Fai on May 22, 2008

Angelina Jolie had been keeping a low profile in recent weeks. But on May 15, after the premiere of her new animated movie, Kung Fu Panda, at the Cannes Film Festival in France, she looked thrilled to be out in public — and showing off her pregnancy. “She seemed so happy,” says an onlooker. “She let Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman [her co-stars] hug her belly.” And as Angie schmoozed with other celebrities, Brad Pitt was by her side. “She looked so comforted by his affection,” says the onlooker. “She was always smiling.”

As her due date nears, Angelina, 32, finally seems eager to talk about her babies. And she and Brad, 44, are clearly willing to do — and spend — anything to bring them into the world secure and healthy. In fact, insiders estimate Brad and Angie will spend at least $20 million in France on security, medical costs and shelter for their growing brood.

“Brad and Angelina love all their children and will do everything to protect them and keep them healthy,” says an insider. “Money is no object when it comes to the kids.” That’s true when it comes to the twins as well. “They can drop thousands of dollars on them in a day,” says the insider. “They’d do anything for them.”

Eastwood’s “Changeling” a Jolie tour de force

Posted by Fai on

For only the second time in his filmmaking career, Clint Eastwood settles on a heroine for his latest celebration of the loner who bucks the system.

Like Hilary Swank’s boxer in “Million Dollar Baby,” Angelina Jolie’s single mother, Christine Collins, takes every punch thrown at her in “Changeling,” and comes back fighting. Her combat is not in a boxing ring — where fighting is supposed to take place — but rather in a corrupt police department, psychiatric ward and the court of justice where she demands to know one thing: What happened to her son?

A true story that is as incredible as it is compelling, Eastwood’s competition entry brushes away the romantic notion of a more innocent time to reveal a Los Angeles circa 1928 awash in corruption and steeped in a culture that treats women as hysterical and unreliable beings when they challenge male wisdom. Cover Story: Angie’s Twin Countdown

Posted by Fai on

“I never planned on having children biologically,” Angelina Jolie said last week while in Cannes, France, for the annual film festival. “But that changes when you meet someone you love.”

And things are about to change in a big way for the Oscar-winner, who recently confirmed that she and Brad Pitt are expecting twins. And now, as the clock winds down toward her delivery, OK! can reveal some of the plans the couple are making for the big day.

Though sources say the couple had originally planned on welcoming the latest addition to their growing brood in the United States, it’s becoming more and more likely that the tots will be born in Europe. Angie herself admitted on May 15 that she and Brad “are thinking of France.”

So how long will they the Jolie-Pitts remain overseas? “They have access to their villa in France at least through July 1,” one source confirms to OK!. Which works out perfectly, because odds are that the actress may give birth in the next four weeks. Read more…

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt enjoy an evening out to dinner with friends at Tetou Restaurant in Golfe-Juan, France on Monday (three miles from Cannes).

The couple were accompanied by about eight pals including the legendary Clint Eastwood, English rocker Mick Jagger and director Brett Ratner.

After dinner, outside the restaurant, Brad briefly chatted with a young fan and signed an autograph for her. How sweet!

Eastwood, Jolie get Cannes applause for new drama

Posted by Fai on

Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie drew warm applause at Cannes Tuesday for a wrenching drama based on a true story of a single mother in 1920s California whose son vanishes.

Eastwood, who will turn 78 next week, directed “The Exchange”, a picture that picks up the themes of children in danger and lost innocence that have marked much of his acclaimed late-career work.

The film, originally titled “Changeling”, tells the story of Christine Collins (Jolie) whose nine-year-old son Walter goes missing.

Months later police turn up with a boy they say is Walter. But Christine senses immediately he is not her son and her suspicion is quickly confirmed. Read more…

Jolie challenged by Eastwood film

Posted by Fai on

Angelina Jolie has said that she could not imagine anything worse than losing a child, when discussing her new film Changeling.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, the movie is based on the real-life story of working class single mother Christine Collins (Jolie), whose nine-year-old son Walter goes missing.

Five months later a child claiming to be the boy is returned and police are eager to bask in a public relations coup of reuniting mother and son. Christine takes the boy home, but knows in her heart he is not Walter. Read more…

Jolie pays tribute to late mother

Angelina Jolie has said her role as a single mother whose son goes missing in Clint Eastwood’s film Changeling let her “spend time” with her late mother.

Critics have praised the 1920s period drama, which is based on a true story.

Jolie and Eastwood are at the Cannes Film Festival, where Changeling is up for the prestigious Palme d’Or.

The actress, who is pregnant with twins, said it “was a way to kind of revisit my mother after (her) passing”.

Jolie’s mother, who died last year, was “very sweet,” she added. “But when it came to her children she was a lion.” Read more…
