Angelina Jolie’s estranged father says he still looks up to his movie star daughter.
“People who raise children properly are heroes to me because it takes a lot of work,” Voight, 69, said at the Hollywood premiere of Forgetting Sarah Marshall on Thursday. “And when they do it with joy and love, there’s nothing more beautiful.”
Of the ‘Tomb Raider’ star’s philanthropy, Voight added, “I think she’s terrific. God bless her!”
Voight — who hasn’t spoken to Jolie since he accused her of having “mental problems” after her split from Billy Bob Thornton in 2002 — called her latest pregnancy “wonderful.
“I’m very excited, and I’m sending my love to the family,” he told Us Weekly. “They’re getting to be a bigger family — it’s great!
Added Voight, “It’s nice to see people embracing family and loving that whole process.”

This could make for one odd family reunion: Barack Obama is a distant cousin of Brad Pitt, and Hillary Rodham Clinton is related to Pitt’s girlfriend, Angelina Jolie.
Researchers at the New England Historic Genealogical Society found some remarkable family connections for the three presidential candidates — Democratic rivals Obama and Clinton, and Republican John McCain.
Clinton, who is of French-Canadian descent on her mother’s side, is also a distant cousin of singers Madonna, Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette. Obama, the son of a white woman from Kansas and a black man from Kenya, can call six U.S. presidents, including George W. Bush, his cousins. McCain is a sixth cousin of first lady Laura Bush.

The last thing the martial-arts fans behind “Kung Fu Panda” wanted to do was make fun of the genre they were re-imagining for the animated world.
So while their leading guy is a tubby, klutzy panda with Jack Black’s voice, the filmmakers have delivered a real kung fu movie in the guise of a cartoon comedy.
Directors Mark Osborne and John Stevenson said they intended their panda hero and his comrades — including a tiger (Angelina Jolie), a viper (Lucy Liu) and a monkey (Jackie Chan) — to be the animal-world equivalent of the Asian action warriors they admire.

It’s quite obvious Angelina Jolie hasn’t lost her adventurous side with her impending motherhood.
The Beowulf babe was spotted out and about earlier today at a private airport in Austin, Texas, going for a joy fly in a small plane with her eldest child Maddox.
While the choice of extracurricular activities may seem a little bit questionable for a woman who looks to be nearing her third trimester, Angelina seems to know what she’s doing.
And doctors generally agree that it’s safe to travel by jet while pregnant - we just don’t know if that’s with the mother-to-be in the cockpit!
