The Jolie-Pitt brood is officially made up of four kids (at least for now). The adoption of Vietnamese-born Pax Thien was finalized Wednesday in a Los Angeles Court.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed little Pax Thien in their home and family in March 2007. They had met the young boy in November of the previous year, when they visited the Vietnamese orphanage where he lived.
By summer, the little boy’s name had been officially changed to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, from his original name of Pham Quang Sang. The baby had been abandoned in the Ho Chi Minh City orphanage at birth.
An L.A. County Children’s Court judge approved the Hollywood couple’s adoption of Pax Wednesday, the actress’ spokesperson confirmed to People magazine. TMZ.com reported Thursday that the happy family celebrated at the courthouse in Monterey Park on Wednesday.
TMZ also informs that the adoption was a two-step process; it was first approved in Vietnam and then in L. A. According to E! Online, an official adoption ceremony took place in Vietnam’s Department of Justice in March 2007. Pax turned 4 last November.
Angie and Brad have three other children who all bear the Jolie-Pitt surname. Maddox and Zahara, both adopted, officially became Jolie-Pitts in January 2006. Biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel was born in Namibia in May 2006.
The couple’s adoption of little Pax garnered much media attention at the time, and Angelina declared that she wished to have a “rainbow family.”
Recent rumors have it that she may soon add to her growing brood, as she may be pregnant once more – and this time, perhaps with twins. The world is fascinated, again, forevermore, with Angie’s waistline.
Both she and Brad have been eloquent in expressing their love for their children and for having even more, whether adopted or natural.
