The mother of an Ethiopian baby adopted by Angelina Jolie has denied that she had ever challenged the adoption, and said she was happy her daughter had found a home with the Hollywood star.

In an interview at her tiny home in the southern city of Awasa, Mentwabe Dawit on Saturday rejected recent newspaper reports in the United States and Europe that she wanted two-year-old Zahara returned to Ethiopia.

The medieval battlefield epic “Beowulf” ushered in a new age at North American movie theaters, opening at No. 1 with almost half the ticket sales for the new box office champ coming from 3-D theaters.

According to studio estimates issued on Sunday, Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis’ innovative hybrid of live-action and animation sold $28.1 million worth of tickets during its first three days.

“Beowulf” was the largest release in modern 3-D history, playing in 742 theaters across North America, accounting for about 20 percent of the print count. Sales from those theaters contributed just over 40 percent of the total haul.

Angelina Jolie put to rest the ongoing rumors that she is expecting a child with Brad Pitt. Doesn’t it seem like that rumor has been around ever since she gave birth to Shiloh? Either there’s a rumor that she’s adopting or there’s a rumor that she’s pregnant!

She tells MTV news, “No, there’s always a rumor but not at this moment.

“But at some point we will (have another child).”

Angelina Jolie continues her call for justice in Darfur, writing an essay about the Sudanese region in an upcoming edition of The Economist.

The actress, who serves as the Goodwill Ambassador to UNHCR, discusses the Darfur crisis in a special Economist section devoted to predictions for 2008, the Guardian newspaper reports.

Jolie joins several presidents and the head of the United Nations in the roster of writers featured in the issue.

Now that she’s finished with the UK premiere of “Beowulf,” Angelina Jolie is back in Los Angeles to continue filming the Clint Eastwood film, “The Changeling.”

The “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” actress was back on the set, decked out in her normal period wardrobe, including that cute helmet-looking hat (I swear these are going to make a comeback) and topcoat complete with leather gloves and bright red lipstick.

And it looks like she’ll be adding “Economist writer” to her resume. There are reports that Jolie contributed a piece on “accountability for the atrocities in Darfur” to the political/economic journal.

The oldest known story in the English language comes to the silver screen this month as the epic poem “Beowulf” is brought to life. Using cutting-edge computer animated film, and some of the biggest Hollywood stars, the movie is poised for a groundbreaking run.

The movie, which uses digitally animated backgrounds that are blended with traditional live-action film, follows Beowulf, who comes to save King Hrothgar, played by Anthony Hopkins, because his kingdom has fallen prey to a demon named Grendel.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has said that she and her partner Brad Pitt try to celebrate the holiday festivals of all their adopted children.

The 32-year-old star has a biological daughter, Shiloh, with Pitt and has taken over the daily care of three children from the developing countries of Vietnam, Ethiopia and Cambodia.

Jolie told the television show Good Morning America that she tried to make each of her children’s holidays special.

She may be no stranger to taking risks, but Angelina Jolie’s latest accomplishment is making her blush.

“I got a little shy,” Jolie said Saturday, on the topic of seeing herself in a simulated nude scene for her new computer-animated movie Beowulf.

“I was really surprised that I felt that exposed,” Jolie, 32, said at a press conference for the film in Los Angeles.
